This is where we now live.
A wonderful 18th Century one bedroomed cottage in the centre of town.
The road outside is only used by those who live there and need to park, although there is a fair amount of pedestrian traffic as it's a route from the market place to a supermarket. Then again, it's quiet with only a few people looking in (nosey beggars).
It's quite a quirky place to live - S reckons that there isn't a right angle in the whole house. It's got genuine fireplaces, not the fancy Victorian/Edwardian ones that fetch high prices at auctions, but the old practical ones typical of a worker's cottage.
The place was a house, but changed function to a shop at sometime, and was restored back to a house in recent years. This means that there are loads of electric sockets and none at ground level. This makes it superb for us computer users
and perfect for S with his arthritis as he doesn't have to bend down to plug things in.
I haven't got used to the fact that the floors upstairs undulate, and the bed seems at an odd angle even though it is flat against a wall. It's just the age of the place.
And we love it.
